I offer individual counselling and mentoring sessions for women age 18+ using an array of methodologies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approach which includes identifying your values, mindfulness skills and embodiment practices. I use a combination of “bottom up” (that is, body first, thoughts second) and “top down” approaches rather than exclusively a “top down” approach (eg. cognitive behavioural therapies) as I have found traditional talk therapies can lead to an overreliance on the rational/logical brain and further avoidance of the core experiences keeping the person stuck. Hence I incorporate body-oriented and movement practices, including Somatic Attachment Therapy and Trauma Sensitive Yoga in our sessions together.

I have a particular interest in working with women who feel they have lost their voice, where their wants and needs have been overshadowed by others. This often manifests in ways such as exhaustion, feelings of burnout, resentment and other physical illnesses. It can be as vague as “something not feeling quite right”, feeling like you are always putting others before yourself or more specifically feeling confused, anxious and ungrounded. These women are often sick of survival mode and are really looking to move from survival into thriving. They have often been called “highly sensitive” yet know they are much more multifaceted than this. They are looking for a celebration of all the traits they encompass! Sessions often incorporate embodiment practices, movement, discussions and meditations on the cycles of life (including menstruality consciousness) and reconnection to our sacred emotions as communicators of deep meaning and value rather than a hindrance to living life.

The beauty of our sessions is that you get to create and find what works for you in the moment - this is not a scripted treatment plan by me before you enter the space. Whether it’s sitting down on a couch, the floor, movement, use of music or art, we can find what helps you express, process and ultimately heal from whatever you feel like is holding you back from living the life you want to live.

PLEASE NOTE Monique no longer works with children or adolescents.

  • Telehealth/online sessions (Wednesday, Thursday)

    If your house is unsuitable for sessions (eg. privacy, kids, safety, etc) the invitation to be creative with a space if you can (eg. the car, a park, somewhere outdoors)

  • Office sessions (Thursday afternoons)

Investment/Energy exchange: As of 1st March 2023, $270 AUD (60mins session) for new clients.

Partial Medicare Rebates of $89.65 AUD apply using a valid Mental Health Care Plan from your GP meaning your out of pocket expense for a session is $180.35.

Please note you do not need a Mental Health Care Plan to see Monique. This is only if you wish to claim a partial rebate.

You may also be able to claim with Private Health insurance, depending on your particular cover. You will need to contact your Private Health Insurer to clarify.
